All summer I've been waiting for the grain to turn golden so we could get some family pictures taken by my father-in-law. It kind of snuck up on me, all of a sudden Derek was talking about grain harvest. So a few days ago we crinkled through the field for a few pictures. These are some of my favorites.
Evelyn really enjoyed this photo shoot, and she really liked riding in Ta-ta Reeds truck. Love this, she reminds me of some little wildlife creature.

Sprinklers Fun? Sprinklers Fun!
Twins
I was so startled after I got Gwen ready for church on Sunday, she looked so much like Evelyn. I brought her in to show Derek and he agreed. We had pictures of Ev in the exact same outfit, at about the same age, so we whipped it out and took so twinsies shots. See for yourself: This is, apparently, the Derek Reeds' childrens' mold. Not much Christi involved. Ha ha, I love 'em.

A Love Obsession
Evelyn loves everything about my parents house. Every day she asks to go to 'Pama's House'. I love Pama's house too because there is yummy treats in the garden, a swing set, a little kiddy pool, a dog for Evelyn to play with, tons of snacks in the pantry, movies, and a house full of people who love Evelyn and make a big fuss over everything she does. Not to mention, Pama can't say 'no' to Evelyn when she asks to go on a 'stroller walk'. It's kind of like Disneyland with a house full of babysitters. I just go over there and relax while Evelyn runs around and wears herself out.
We went over a few days ago so Evs could swim. She didn't actually do much swimming, but still had fun. In this pic she's looking for some strawberries. She looks like a little diva walking Beemer around.
Great News!
We will soon have grass! I am so excited to have a yard with grass instead of hard dirt. Plenty of people have helped in this endeavor (mostly Derek), but as you can see Evelyn is earning her keep around here. Here she is helping Derek to weed the garden. I was so happy to get a picture with both of them looking! Evelyn loved to wear a hat like Daddy.

Congratulations to us!
We're so happy that Gwen is here! She is doing so well with everything, eating, sleeping, etc. She seems to have a very mellow easygoing personality.
I had an appointment on the 1st and was dilated to a four. My nurse-midwife, Susan, said that she'd be here within a day. I was excited, but tried not to get my hopes up just-in-case. Well my contractions slowly progressed throughout the day. By 9pm they were 5 min apart or less. By 1 am I was nauseous so we left for the hospital thinking she'd be out in an hour or two. I was only a six when we arrived! That was disappointing, oh well. So we did our thing for the next four hours. (Here's my shout-out to Hypno-Birthing that I would totally recommend to anyone!) She was born at 5:45 on July 2nd. The sun was rising, I couldn't believe that I was in labor all night! She's perfect!
