Funnest Day Ever

It seems like since having kids, my life is full of "ah ha" moments. I couldn't figure out why adults didn't care as much about their birthdays once they had kids. Well, I quickly figured that out on Sunday. Evelyn had her second birthday. She was treated like a princess the whole day, we did everything she wanted to do. Watching her open her presents was more fun than I've had in a long time. I was thinking about what Christmas must be like when you have a few chillins. Sounds like fun. Here's a re-cap of the day.

We went to the river to feed the ducks, and she fell to sleep on the way. The rest of us hung out so she could nap a little. You can see Derek camped out there in the background. Evelyn is holding the bread.

Gweners and Derek hanging out. (I think this would be better if Derek was wearing a wife-beater.)

Mommy and little-sister.

After about 20 minutes we woke her up. This is a rockin' photo because I captured the bread in mid-flight while holding a baby. Thank you!

Home for the birthday party! This was the first present she opened. She was very proud to show Great-Grandma and Grandpa Reed her presents.

Derek is always stealing her things.
Opening...

One of her favorite gifts, a baby car seat. All day long now she's telling me that she's ready to go to the store while holding this.

Singing "Happy Birthday" for the millionth time. We sang it all day long and she loved it. In fact, we haven't stopped singing it.

Blowing...
Licking...
Who needs a clown when you have dress-up cloths and three people willing to look like a crazy tribal family?
Happy Birthday to the sweetest cutest daughter!

The Fair Rocks

It was the best of times and it was the worst of times. You know what I mean. I was so excited for the fair this year. I'd sat out on so many amusement rides when I was pregnant that I was fully prepared to go at it full force. Unfortunately, the adult rides had some mile long lines. The kid rides, however, were rockin and rollin through the lines so I lived through Evelyn. She loved every minute of it.

This rollercoaster was the ride she seemed to enjoy the most.
This picture makes me laugh so hard! She is having fun, contrary to what it looks like.

The carousel, of course the ride that she went on the most. She loved to pick out her horse.

Until next year, scone nuggets.

2 Months

Gwen turned two months old a few days ago and I finally got around to taking her 'birthday' picture. It's always in the white rocking chair that Derek gave me for Christmas one year. My family had one just like it when I was little.

She was very good, these first two are my top picks.
So serious.

Evelyn quickly realized what was going on, and dragged in her chair from the other room to sit with her sister. She didn't want to smile, just sit by Gwen. Here she is rocking Gwen.
Kissing her:
And realizing that those headbands are a little too tight.

Gwens Big Day

Gwens blessing day was yesterday. We all had a lot of fun. Evelyn was hyper from the moment everyone showed up at Sacrament Meeting, until 10 pm last night when she went to bed (no nap involved). And Gwen was a happy smiley baby all day long as well.

We love our family so much!
Daddy and little sister.

Mommy and little sister.

Happy 27th Birthday Derek!

Our little family celebrated Dereks birthday this week. Derek turned 27! This was the eleventh time I've bought him a birthday present. The majority of his presents are BYU stuff, and it's a good thing too because BYU won their first game of the season last Saturday. They beat #3 Oklahoma and so Derek is now a very happy 27 year old.

Got Sunscreen?

Sometimes I know Evelyn is up to something and I just don't do anything about it because I'm getting something done. That sounds terrible. Yesterday was Dereks birthday and I was making his cake and cleaning the kitchen. I could hear her in the bathroom, and knew she was up to something, but I was on a roll. Welp, as I'm walking up the stairs to check on her I heard her say 'lotion' and assumed the worst. Thankfully, it wasn't too bad, she had unscrewed the top off her sunscreen and was applying it onto her entire body. One area that received the most attention was her upper lip for some reason. I mostly thought this was funny because no harm was done, and the sunscreen smells really good.

As a side note, she has an infatuation with her fish bows. After I fix her hair lately she always asks for them. So instead of trading them for the ones I've already put in, I just add them to the mix and sneak them out at some point during the day.

Smiley Susan

Gwen is SO smiley. She's always been a happy smiley baby. I had to take some pics to remember her cute smiley face.

Here is her happy smile.
She does this a lot, she gets so happy and excited that she starts squirming. It's hilarious.

Here she is looking at her momma. She loves me. Love me, love me.
