Let's Talk About Victory

Yes, BYU wins their season opener. Is anyone else happier? Derek is a little happier that me because he picked a closer score in our Football challenge. I don't know how he always does better than me.
We are going to the next home game on the 13th against UCLA. That is Evelyns birthday so we'll be celebrating a few days early. I will not be posting on every game, but I couldn't resist for this one.
This is a sweet pic of Max Hall who had a smokin' game. Go BYU!

Food or BYU Football? I'll have BYU Football.

This is true for Derek who is admittedly obsessed with BYU Football anything. This will be our second season without season passes. He makes up for it by watching/reading every pre-season clip, article, commercial, chat-room, etc. that he can get his hands on that has to deal with BYU Football.
The season opener is this Saturday against Northern Iowa at 4pm. Don't feel too bad for us, we'll be at Grandpa Reeds house with his new set-up to watch the game in full HD style. Evelyn is prepared, Go BYU!

I Want Baby Pictures and I Want Them Now

I am making an ABC book for Evelyn that will include a picture of her doing something for every letter. Because of this I have been taking a whole load of pictures that I otherwise wouldn't be taking. I got this one today for 'W', water. This picture was taken right before she noticed a ladybug on her leg. She 'picked up' the ladybug and rolled it in between her fingers. I thought of using that for 'S' squished. I think I'll stick with swimming. She might find that more enjoyable.

This one is obviously 'A' for apple. She went to town on this apple, well as much as she could.

Firstclass Milestones

Life is full of wonderful events. A few favorites of mine: my 18th birthday, Derek proposing to me, getting married, getting pregnant, having a baby. Just to name a few. It seems like on all of these occasions that before it actually happened, I didn't think it would ever happen. Well, audience, a great event has happened once again in the Reed home. One that I couldn't be more excited about. One that I didn't think could come quick enough... I did two french braids in my babys hair. (I feel the need for some Olympic music here.) Please feel free to use this as your screen saver.

Nobody Does it Like a Baby

Book Review

Congratulations to myself. I finally obtained a copy of Breaking Dawn and finished it a few days ago. I was torn in reading the book because I wanted to gobble it up in a few days, but I knew that after I was done that it would be all over. So I tried to pace myself to enjoy it more. And I think I did. After I was finished reading it I went back through a lot of it again.
Okay, so what did I think of the book? I 100% enjoyed the book as a whole. I had a hard time getting through the last third of Jacobs' book. It got to be a little boring that Bella was still pregnant... and still pregnant. I felt a long lull in that section of the book. It sure did change in a hurry though!
I was a little freaked out when Bella was drinking the blood so casually. Having been pregnant before I can totally sympathize for Bella about loving her baby so much when everyone else hated it so much. I was glad when Edward started to love the baby after he heard it. I liked that part. I also figured it out pretty quickly that she was pregnant. I did not like the dreams she was having in the first section. They were totally creepy.
A couple thoughts about the labor and delivery part: it was also creepy when she vomited all the blood. The next creepy thing was when Rosalie got all 'thirsty' when Bella was in labor. That part scared me, I thought, 'you can't eat her after all the help you've given her.' Then I thought that Edward biting the baby out of her was yucky. It was really vivid to me. I just imagined having a c-section with a saw or something. Yuck.
I really liked the descriptions of everything once Bella was 'reborn'. The dust and time and color was all described very well. I thought I would have mixed feeling about her first hunt, but I enjoyed it. Now that I think of it I really liked it a lot because it finally felt like Bella was happy and positive. In the past books she's been such a downer.
I did not understand that Jacob had imprinted on Renesmee until Bella figured it out. Initially I was repulsed, but then it seemed like all the pieces fit together perfectly. The whole Bella and Jacob saga could finally end. I felt that they both were totally inappropriate with each other up until this point. I wish I could see into the authors mind to know how much into the future she knows with this story. I think she was preparing us with Jacobs friend that imprinted on the little girl. Warming us up to the idea.
I really like the climax. I was expecting a great battle scene complete with a bonfire finale. When the Volturri left 'in peace' I was initially a little disappointed because I felt like I wanted more. Then I realized I was satisfied. I am used to all stories and movies having the great battle at the end, and I think for that reason alone I wanted a war. I am happy with the battle (or lack of) scene finales in all the books because it doesn't drag on and on. Is it possible that is because the author is female and she thinks like me? That a full chapter of fighting is not necessary?
I was so happy that Bella and Edward were happy and in love for the entire book. I think that at the end of the book it could have said, 'happily ever after' instead of 'the end'.
With a little help from what I think was foreshadowing, I would like to predict the next book. A fight over Renesmee between Nahuel and Jacob? I am excited to get to know Renesmee as an adult.
Well I think that's it. Feel free to comment on this. I'm so happy that I've read it, but so sad that I'm done.

Breaking Dawn

I can't wait to get my hands on this book. I haven't even read it yet, and I still can't stop thinking about it. I have three friends that have bought the book who will lend it to me when they're done. I can't wait! When I get my hands on it and finish it the next day I will post my thoughts. Until then...
