Christmas Eve

After a fun Christmas Eve Party, we headed home to open "one present". I think I fell for this every year when I was a kid and never remembered that it was jammies. Well, we're doing it too! Here are my tots, all happy and ready to open their jams.

Wait for it...

Ta, da! This is the fourth time that I've posted a picture of our two daughters in front of the tree in their new Christmas jammies, and it never gets old.

Good night!

Gingerbread House 2011

I have really enjoyed making Gingerbread Houses a tradition. The girls love it and this year it was so much less messy! Progress!
I know what you're thinking, it's the best you've ever seen.

My Sweeties

Hold Me Close Now

Best dancer ever! Evelyns usual shy personality was nowhere to be seen on the "Big Night". She was all about getting her hair and make-up done and had no problem going up on the stage.

Break it down!

So much fun! This was Derek and I's first performance for one of our kids. It was so much fun. Oh, I guess I already said that.

California, Baby!

We surprised the girls with a trip to Disneyland. (Remember that post forever ago about saving money for vacations? Me too.) I guess surprise is an exaggeration. We just didn't tell them until about a week before so that we wouldn't be answering 'how many days until we go to Disneyland' forever. We really talked up Disneyland leading up to this, and the ocean. By the time we left they were so excited to go to the ocean and see all the princesses and Jessy from Toy Story.
Here are the girls, all ready to go. We were just walking out the door. They had their carry-on backpacks all ready with their goods.

Our first stop was the ocean, Gwens first time to see it. We did swim in it, it was pretty cold but the farmers family only ever travels when it's cold, y'all. We have made a great traditions of cold oceans. It a good tradition, you should try it.

Next stop, Aquarium of The Pacific. Love this picture of Gwen with the sharks behind her.

Our first night in California, after dinner. Some nice folks took our picture.

Love this picture, because this guy in the background is about to ask us if he could take our picture and then if we would take his families.

Glad he did, cause I love this picture. Isn't it perfect? Minus the kids not smiling of course, no biggie. Notice his wife and kids in the back, waiting for their turn.

Teacups! We were good old regulars on this ride.

We saw all the princesses except for Jasmine. The girls were most excited to see Belle, and she was so nice! She even had Derek enchanted under her spell. I have since thrown away Beauty and the Beast.

Here are the girls waiting in line to meet Mickey Mouse. Ya know how some pictures just turn out great? This is one of them.

Meeting Mickey Mouse was pretty cool. This picture is a little blurry, but it was a lot of fun to meet him.

This is No-Neck-Jessy. Luckily, the girls couldn't tell the difference.

We had so much fun and all of our dreams came true!

The Good, The Bad, and The Uglies

Gwen was such a good witch this year. Even with her mole on her nose! She was so smiley for all our pictures. I think Rapunzel had just realized that Mother Gothel wasn't really her mother.
I don't know who these uglies are, but I do know that they won a prize for their costumes.

They were Trolls, in case you were wondering.

Jock-O-Lanterns

We carved some serious pumpkins this year. The girls thought they were awesome because we grew them in our garden and have been watching them grow all year. After carving a few, Evelyn got a feel for it and drew a face on paper that she wanted to carve into a pumpkin and it was the One-eyed pumpkin second from the left there, and also the one right next to Gwens head with the tear drop mouth.
