Snoozin' With Grandma

Evelyn loves when grandma Shawnee babysits her before bed time because that means they get to fall asleep together in a big bed. I don't think she would ever do this with me. So last week when this happened I had to take a picture of it to capture the memory for both of these guys.

Ultrasound

We are having another girl! We are so excited for Evelyn to have a sister. I've been so anxious to find out so I can get going on her baby book, and sewing some burp cloths. I borrowed them with Evelyn so it's time I made my own. Evelyn and I went shopping the day after the ultrasound and bought some cute fabric, and a sweet little baby book. Derek hung some sweet curtains in babys' new room and I am just so excited!

We already know what we're going to name her,
Gweneth JoAnne. Derek and I have LOVED the names Evelyn and Gwen since we first talked baby names so we are happy to be able to use them both. JoAnne is, of course, Dereks moms name who passed away about a year and a half ago.

Cookies!

I have a sweet tooth when I'm pregnant. I love cookies when I'm pregnant. Therefore, we made cookies last week and Evelyn was a great helper.

Here she is rolling the Snickerdoodles in the cinnamon and sugar, and concentrating very hard.
This is an action shot of her rubbing the cinnamon and sugar off her hands.

This is one of those great messy face pictures. She wasn't too mad when I interrupted her phone call to take this picture. She walks around saying, 'hello! hello!" into her phone.

Frost For a Change

It was such a beautiful morning! Thursday nights frost left everything covered in thick frost. It was so pretty. Derek and I were so disappointed that my father-in-law was out of town. I thought he would just love to take pictures this morning. So, in honor of him, Derek did his best to capture the beauty. Here are some of my favorites from our front yard.

The Twin French Braids

I fully understand that I am obsessed with something that others may find insignificant. A part of me thinks I am crazy. In spite of all that, I cannot get enough of my daughters hair. Along with these french braids was my first attempt at the curling iron and that part was a flop. I did however, love the braids. As you can see:

Snow Times In Island Park

I am not joking, I really think that sometimes I'm living a dream. I never thought I could be so happy, and I never thought I would have a cabin to visit whenever I wanted to. We were in Island Park this weekend with the Byingtons and I am starting to realize more and more that Evelyn is all Reed. She wanted to be outside the entire time. And she was content to just be outside and preferred to be sitting on a snowmobile. It was a freezing weekend, on Sunday morning is was -25 (where is the degrees button?).

In this pic most of us were out on a night ride and my mom was watching the kids in the cabin. She said that as soon as Evelyn heard the snowmobiles pulling up she got all excited. So my mom wrapped her in a blanket and put a hat on her and Evelyn was so happy to just sit outside while we all talked. Can't you tell how happy she is?

Watching us from inside the cabin
I like this picture because my dad(in the red) had just pushed Derek and Evelyn on the tube towards me(notice the shadow) while I was standing downhill.
Family picture with the fourth member of our family. No, not my belly, the snowmobile.

Say Cheese!

At Last! My camera shy baby smiles on command! We were about to walk out the door and she just looked so grown up, I whipped out the camera and she smiled. Boy, I am admittedly easy to impress.
