A Little Bit of BYU

We spent the weekend in Salt Lake and Provo, and we had so much fun. Derek and I ate at some of our favorite restaurants. On Saturday we had Maglebys Fresh for breakfast, J-Dawgs for brunch, Pizza Factory for lunch and Cafe Rio for dinner. It was delicious. Here is some pics of our day on campus.

We checked out the new addition of the Tanner Building. This is where the majority of Dereks classes were.
A nice student took this pic of us outside the North side of the Tanner buildings new addition.
J-Dawgs! I love this place. A good hot dog is hard to find. We are all dressed up for the BYU game.
A couple of my favorite things: my baby and a J-Dawg.
Kurtis, me and Derek with our home made sun shades. We were sunburnt regardless.

Birthday Strikes Again

Happy first birthday to our first baby. We had a sweet party at our house this evening. Evelyn had so much fun. Everyone was watching her for the entire time. We made her birthday shirt, thanks to Hannahs idea.

Evelyn, how old are you?
She loved her cupcake.
I think this picture is so cute, Faye and Evelyn eating their cupcakes together.
A second birthday/family picture this month. Happy birthday to Evelyn!

Don't Worry, I Don't Leave the House Without My Hamster.

Evelyn takes full advantage of all six of her teeth. She stuffs food in her face faster than I can slow her down.

Does anyone else see a resemblance? This post is dedicated to all of Jamies hamsters.

The Squishy Hand Isn't Working

Evelyn loves the bookshelf in our living room. Unfortunately it is off limits. However, she chooses to pull a book or two off of it about every day. She minds us so well on about every other off limit area. Well I had finished the last 'survivor' post and look over at her and she had pulled 'Believing Christ' off the shelf and was 'reading it. I think she was reading it out loud too. This picture is of me busting her. This is a guilty face. I thought everyone might like to see a pic of her standing.

We Survived a Time Share Presentation

Last night we went to a time share presentation thanks to our friend, Eric Josephson, who gave them our phone number. We went peacefully, and like everyone else, fully intending not to purchase. Half of the salesmen had gone to high school with us, and they were really nice to us right from the beginning. We knew that what we had prepared for the hard core pressure at the end. Well, after the private meeting and the presentation and the movie, then came the moment we'd been prepping for... ... ... it never came.

After a while the guy said, 'I can tell I'm not getting anywhere with you guys. I'll have someone come and give you your free gift.'

He wasn't kidding either. We got our gift and left.

Are we different? According to everyone we've talked to the answer is, yes. Why didn't they put us in a dark room with only one light with a Mexican smoking a cigar staring at us? Why did I leaving without crying from the rude salesman's pressure?

Who knows? But we're happy and best of wishes to all of you when you do it. If you're reading this, we probably gave them your phone number.

Just kidding. Or am I? I guess you'll find out when the phone rings.

I Love Birthdays

It is Dereks birthday today. We had a lot of fun. I didn't think I'de even get to see him today because they've been so busy with Harvest. We were able to spend a few hours together and it was fantastic.
Thanks to all our family who responded with the 'love letters'. It turned out great.
Here's a wonderful picture of my family, courtesy of my father-in-law. I wish we had a camera on our side while he was taking the picture to show everyone the faces and noises he was making to get Little Miss E to laugh. It was priceless.

This was at lunchtime. Evelyn likes peaches as much as her dad. Notice the peice of peel on the side of her face. That peice alone made me want to take a picture. I also love how her eyes are twinkling.
We were singing "Happy Birthday" in this picture. Derek was trying to show Evelyn how to blow out candles since she will be doing it soon. I'm pretty sure that she wasn't paying attention to daddy, she liked the presents.
